The Rest of the Story: The Chronicles of the Avra Valley Airport concluded Hardcover – Large Print, September 19, 2025

For more than eight years, this author was the first woman fixed-base operator of a small general aviation airport, the Avra Valley Airport, which is now named the Marana Regional Airport. Even though not yet thirty, with no aviation background, she entered the male dominated world of aviation, which became her life she loved dearly, made complete with her beloved dog, Spinner, by her side. Because of two crashes that resulted in three deaths, the author abruptly left with few goodbyes. She never talked about the airport after leaving though silently grieved for almost fifty years for those times she so loved. In 2023 because of a sequence of events, the author revisited that time as she wrote The Chronicles of the Avra Valley Airport which was published in 2024. Cathartic for her and a non-stop reading of her unbelievable life for the reader, the author felt her story had been told. But, and this is big, with no intention of going back to the airport, even declining the present airport superintendent’s personal invitation of a tour, his tour was the highlight of the author’s journey back in time. Feeling it was also part of her story that should be included in the Town of Marana’s archives next to her first book, she wrote The Rest of the Story - The Chronicles of the Avra Valley Airport continued, and it was published on September 19, 2025. Shortly after the second book was published, the author presented both books to the Town of Marana Councilmembers giving an account of the events that led to the publication of both books. The applaud from the Councilmembers and audience in attendance had the author revisit what she had written in both books. Her story of her airport days, the story of her writing both books and the author’s disclosure she never intended to include now the last chapter, the author felt her story complete with this publication, The Rest of the Story - The Chronicles of the Avra Valley Airport concluded.
