Monitor food temperature and cooking process quickly and easily! no need to open the oven door or grill and let all the heat escape, the Taylor programmable thermometer allows you to see the temperatures of your food from outside the oven door or grill Hood. Simple and easy to program - press the buttons to the desired temperature target, insert the stainless steel probe into the food and you are set! place the base next to the oven or grill to see the progress of the cooking - the display will show the actual/current temperature and the target temperature. Food may cook faster as the oven door or grill Hood isn't opened to let hot air escape! the braided stainless steel cord is heat resistant but do not expose to direct flame. For best results, insert the food safe, stainless steel probe at least 1"- 2" into the food being cooked, making sure not to be in contact with bones or fat as that can affect the true temperature. Also, when removing the cord from the food when cooking is complete, do not pull from the cord. This may cause damage to the electronic components in the cord and the probe. Always gently pull from the probe to remove from the food with a heat resistant glove or pot holder. Do not immerse the cord in water as it may cause damage to electronic components. A wide temperature range up to 492F allows you to monitor many types of food. Plus a timer is included - set up to 99 minutes, 59 seconds. Timer works independently of the thermometer and both can be used at the same time! one AAA battery is included for convenience.
