Jamaican Yellow Habanero Pepper Seeds. Non GMO. Annual. Open Pollinated. Capsicum chinense. AKA: Mushroom Chile Pepper. 85-100 days. The Jamaican habanero pepper is sometimes known as the Mushroom Chile Pepper because of its small and distorted 1 inch tall baby bella mushroom appearance. The Yellow Jamaican habanero pepper is relatively tame for habaneros as it is rated between 250,000 - 300,000 Scoville Heat Units, about 400% milder than the ghost pepper. Habanero pepper plants mature to about 36 inches tall and about 24 inches wide, able to grow perennially like a fruit tree in hardiness zones 10 and above. Plants become top-heavy with fruit and will require some staking and support. Jamaican Yellow habanero thrives in pots and containers and susceptible to root rot and wilting in poorly drained soils.
