  • Vintage Creamer, German Porcelain, Multi Floral with Wheat Pattern, Colditz GP Mark, (Discontinued)
  • Made in: Germany - GDR
  • Vintage: 1970's - 1980's
  • Details:  A beautiful little creamer, perfect for a breakfast tray for one. It stands at 3 1/2 inches Tall, filled to the very top, it holds about 6 oz.  It is made by Colditz of very fine porcelain.  This creamer features multiple flowers primarily in Blue and Orange with golden wheat stalks and embossed half moons on the top border, could even be described as little "fish scales", or basketweave.  It has the Colditz "CP" logo mark and: "Made in German Democratic Republic", plus the number 70, we're guessing that is the mould number.  Based on the backstamp, we were able to date this piece to between 1970's to the 1980's.  We could not find a name for this pattern, possible it was not named.  If you're collecting this pattern, we hope this is a welcome addition.  We also carry the matching espresso cups in this pattern, if you would like to purchase the two demitasse cups & saucers (2) in this pattern (last photo), plus this creamer, we offer a 15% discount with the purchase of all pieces.  Please Contact Us for discount code.

Colditz is a small town in the district of Leipzig, in Saxony, Germany. It is known for Colditz Castle, as well as White Colditz clay (coincidentally, same clay used by the famous Meissen porcelain factory).  In 1804 Thomsberger & Hermann established a ceramics factory.  In 1969 the company changed names to VEB Porzellan Colditz, due to the communist regime having opened a porcelain factory years before with the VEB name, we guess they were incorporated, but unsure what actually happened.  After the fall of the Berlin wall, Colditz was privatized again, but unfortunately  they went bankrupt in 1998.
